Teddy's Bigger Burgers - Waikiki

Wow! Shockingly delicious gourmet burgers at the quiet end of Waikiki.

I had the Aiea burger and the hubby had Kailua burger. Both were ridiculously delicious and juicy, and the smell of the charcoal grill in the burgers were prominent in a very good way. The lettuce, tomatoes and Maui onions were crispy and very fresh, the pickles were perfect, and those were real mushrooms properly pan fried. And one 1/3 lb patty is plenty huge!!!

I've never used so many napkins in my life lol. Definitely make sure you are not wearing white when you eat here lol.

The fries were decent, and the tater tots were better. The service was friendly and efficient.

If I had to quibble, I'd say the only thing they could do better is to toast or grill the buns, as my buns felt a bit cold and stodgy, like they had just been in the fridge, or maybe recently defrosted.

But really, it was a minor quibble - definitely a great burger option for the price and location. Certainly much better than the overpriced burger at the Deck next door (we had two meals for about the same price of one burger at the Deck, and Teddy's is by far superior).

Decent place for a meal at the zoo end of Waikiki. It isn't cheap. The salad was about $9, add avocado for $3 and chicken for $5. But I was hungry and wanted something healthy. It was ok. Chicken was decent but not spectacular.

I did not order the side of avocado and didn't realize the cashier added it until the food came. The salads at chick filet are better and bigger at $5 cheaper. This salad was equivalent to the size of Jack in the box salads which are under $9.

Still, this is Waikiki. What are you gonna do? I'd go back if I was in this area again. Just know it's decent but overpriced food.

Our first meal in Honolulu! We landed and was super hungry. Our hotel was next to this place so we gave it a try! Burger was great, pretty juicy and fries were delicious. It wasn't as busy for us so we got our food pretty quickly. THere's a lot of area for seating. I highly recommend to try when you're in Honolulu!

Nearly 11 years after our first visit, we returned to Honolulu for a little getaway. The very first place we decided to eat at was Teddy's. I was blown away by how good it was all those years ago and was eager to experience it again!

If this review was based strictly on the Burgers, it would be a slam dunk 5 stars! Large, juicy and cooked a prefect medium for me. Every bite was a little slice of cheeseburger heaven!

The rest of my experience was rather underwhelming.

- We came here on a Sunday early afternoon while waiting for our room to be ready for check-in, so it was not very busy at all. There were only 2 other sets of diners and us there. All of the tables were dirty. Literally ALL of them. This would have taken mere moments to swipe those table tops clean.
- Service was VERY slow. If the cashier had been moving any slower, he would have been moving backwards. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there.
- You have to go into the connecting hotel to use the bathroom or wash your hands. This does require a password you have to get from the cashier. A bit of a hassle just to wash your hands.
- The burgers are incredibly tasty, but NOT cheap. A pair of Double Cheeseburger combos with drinks ran me a little north of $45 out the door.

Damn.

If I'm ever fortunate enough to go back to the Island one day, I will certainly go back to Teddy's, if just for the burgers!

Small burger shop gets you good quality fresh tasty burgers fries if you're craving American food in an Asian cuisine jungle.
Quick service and we used take out to eat at hotel. Area has busy safe ambiance.

Service was very slow, fountain dring out of service for Coke Zero (until tomorrow) I had to get Fuze tea...of coarse, no sweetener!
Very disappointed!
Menu are all in Japanese on the three video boards I had to ask for an English menu.

What has happened to Teddys??

Very poor experience here, I doubt I'll be coming back. Had to wait 30 minutes for my hamburger, and the burger itself was mediocre at best. There are much better options for less.
( I have had decent burgers at other teddy's, but there always seems to be issues with this location)

TLDR; unless you have 30 minutes to wait for a mediocre hamburger, go somewhere else

Not what i expected in Waikiki. Yes people want to grab a burger after the zoo visit or near the beach. But tables were dirty, floor was dirty, bathroom was dirty. Seating area was hole-in-wall style ugly. Bare basics atmosphere. For $5 -$10 more per person, I could have eaten in a hotel restaurant with true table service, cloth napkins, clean tables, and more variety than just burgers with onion or cheese or avocado etc.

Great food, service & atmosphere. Bobbylicous made this place memorable. Its great to get great customer service with great food. Thank you! Bobbylicous, you rock!
